Welcome to the temporary site for Landcare America.

The purpose of this website is to share information about the landcare efforts and practices that are emerging in North America.  The scope of this particular site is rather limited at this point, but will be expanded as the movement develops further.  For a more complete description of landcare, visit www.landcarecentral.org

Community Landcare Groups

Community landcare is the locally-led and place-based efforts taking place on the ground to improve communities, economies, and the environment. Through cooperation and coordination, landcare communities advance their interests more effectively than if neighbors and community members act independently.  Landcare communities are grassroots, locally led efforts. They generally have an interest in democratic participation and promoting social justice, ensuring that economic and environmental opportunities are fair and equitable.

Landcare Partnerships

Landcare partnerships form to include landowners, NGOs, businesses, government agencies, community leaders, and other interested stakeholders. Landcare is successful when it is locally-led and state supported.
